Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) is a trade and cultural center located at a hill near Jimbaran. The view from the area is very beautiful which we can see Jimbaran beach and the sea from above. Gaaruda Wisnu Kencana is not an ancient temple area, but a modern real estate designed by famous architect Nyoman Nuarte. It is unique that all the buildings are made by carving the white rock of the hill. From the top of Garuda Wisnu Kencana, we can rent a telescope to see Jimbaran and the sea from the height.
There is a big open air hall that is used for music concert performance. There are alot of International and Indonesian artists that has been performed at this GWK cultural park. There is also an amphitheatre in Garuda Wisnu Kencana that regularly performed Balinese Dance Performances every afternoons, including the famous Kecak Dance for free. The icon of Garuda Wisnu Kencana is a big statue of Wisnu (a Hindu Gods) and Garuda (a big bird like eagle). The statue is not finished yet, because Wisnu Statue suppose to be above the Garuda Bird, as the real theme is Wisnu ride a Garuda bird. But it is still very beautiful to see.
There also alot of shops to buy merchandises. There are a lot of restaurants and cafe in this area.
